Culture Shock

Just when we were into the spanish groove we crossed the border to Brazil, home to the caipirinha and confusion. Todo bom, todo bem - nao! Don´t follow? We don´t much either! Very strange feeling not to be able to ask simple directions, just what IS in that sandwich or how many plates and in which order you need to put them on the scales at a prato kilo. Cloud 9 bliss let us float pretty obliviously through all the intial confusion. As did celebrating our engagement in the plush surrounds of Hotel Internacional Foz. What a buffet breakfast spread - any chance of a doggie bag for the next month?

Foz do Iguacu, change in border = change in spelling; gave us another chance to take just one or two (OK 100) more photos of the Falls from a different perspective. Will let the photos do the talking in this blog. (Ok we´ve been lazy and are 4 blogs behind and are cutting corners). Enjoy the funky photos.

Looking back at Salto Bossetti - awwwwwwwwww xoxoxoxox

Tried our best to secure semi-leito seats to Rio de Janeiro but limited options left us on one of the worst bus journeys of the trip so far.

Stu & Kaz´s checklist to guarantee a restless bus trip:

1. Ensure you are surrounded by the loudest passengers on the bus - preferably the nocturnal ones.

2. Sit right next to the bus driver´s door - there must have been a party going on in there that all the nocturnal passengers were joining, leaving, rejoining with a mate. Remembering to slam the door inbetween visits.

3. Ask the bus to stop at every overpriced fast food joint on the hwy (especially just when you´ve managed to nod off.)

4. Not enough people crammed on your bus? - get the armed police to join you at 3am, please feel free to search my bag Mr Policeman with the big gun drawn.

5. Pump up the a/c - there´s a polar bear up the back who still hasn´t put on his winter coat.

6. Make sure you have time to enjoy the whole experience, stay on board for 24hours.

7. Buy a direct ticket to Rio to find yourself going through Sao Paulo anyway - the only destination from Foz that does offer luxury travel. ARSE!

Enough whinging! Still enjoying all of the wonderful experiences, just has it moments. (see anti-blog coming soon for a laugh at our expense ;-)) )
